About Me

My Journey: From the Ground Up

My career in construction didn't start in a classroom or from reading a textbook. It began decades ago the moment I left school, stepping directly onto active building sites. I learned the trade the traditional way with my hands, working alongside seasoned tradespeople, and understanding the physical reality of how a building comes together.

Over the decades, I have watched the UK housing industry undergo massive changes. I’ve seen construction methods evolve, regulations tighten, and new technologies emerge. Because I have lived and worked through these changes, I don't just know what a finished house looks like; I know exactly how a quality home should be built, step-by-step, from the initial foundation pour to the final ridge tile on the roof.

10 Years of Inside New-Build Expertise

For the last 10 years, I chose to focus my career entirely within the fast-paced new-build sector. Working in various senior construction roles, a core part of my daily responsibility was conducting rigorous handover inspections. It was my job to assess the work of subcontractors and determine if a property was fit for a buyer to move into.

This decade on the front lines of modern volume housebuilding taught me things you can only learn from the inside:

  • I know the shortcuts: I know where sub-contractors face the most pressure to cut corners when trying to hit tight developer deadlines.

  • I know where the defects hide: Many of the most costly issues aren't visible on the surface. I know exactly where to look for hidden breaches in fire-stopping, missing insulation, and structural settlement issues.

  • I know the regulations: I have spent a decade working directly with UK building standards, NHBC tolerances, and building control guidelines. I know exactly what is acceptable—and what is a builder trying to push their luck.

Why I Switched Sides: Working for You, Not the Developer

After years of identifying flaws and managing handovers on behalf of large developers, I noticed a worrying trend. The rush to complete houses meant that buyers were too often inheriting stressful, messy defects on moving day, issues that should have been caught long before they got the keys.

I realised that everyday homebuyers needed a qualified, independent voice in their corner. Someone who couldn't be intimidated by site managers or brushed off with corporate customer service excuses.

That is why I stepped away from working for the builders to launch this independent snagging business. Today, I bring my exact insider expertise directly to you, the buyer. I use my lifetime of knowledge to protect your financial investment, giving you the leverage, the evidence, and the peace of mind you need to ensure your new home is delivered to the flawless standard you were promised.
